Visionbox has played a significant role in the transformation of Optometry within the Winelands community, and we are humbled to be the beneficiary of the Pearl Valley Captain’s charity 2022.
We believe good vision is a basic human right and yet it’s for a privileged few. For most South African people, eye care and glasses are just too expensive. But we, at Visionbox, put on our thinking caps and came to a solution that we could change the way optometry is practised. Introducing, optometry-in-a-box.
By reducing costs and overheads, and starting to integrate vertically, we have managed to drop our prices to a point where we can offer top-quality eye care to more people.
TRANSFORMING OPTOMETRY
The bright yellow container is a symbol of hope in Mbekweni, Paarl and a hub for most of our foundation work by offering free eye tests. With eye tests come prescription glasses, and it is a well-known fact that glasses can cost an arm and a leg. The funds raised this year will also contribute to completing the cycle of eyecare by granting prescription glasses to these patients.
With our We See You project, we made it our mission to open a more affordable door to obtaining glasses by just paying for the lenses with a donated frame. Receiving these funds will help us make every step possible to be able to give to give the gift of sight; to have them lead a healthy and high-quality life with a God-destined purpose.
