The Mercedes Benz C-Class
Besides the exceptional driving dynamics, The C-Class also offers versatility and comfort for both passengers and cargo, especially for my golf clubs and golf push cart that need to fit in the back. Powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder turbocharged engine that creates 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, as a lady driver I am happy with the efficiency and excellent accelleration. I must say its a pretty cool thing to have all in one – a starter and generator combo, replacing your traditional alternator.
The passenger leg and headroom is also very spacious. Now comes my favourite part; the gadgets – The high resolution digital instrument display with a touchscreen and the latest software that includes the “Hey Mercedes voice assistant”.
I guess this is a real ladies car with the augmented video availability as an extra option in case we lose our way. A camera registers the surroundings in front of the vehicle and moving images are also shown on the central display. In addition; virtual objects, information and markers are superimposed on the video image. These include traffic signs, directional arrows, lane-change recommendations and even house numbers. This can make navigation so much easier to avoid getting lost and find the golf course in time for my tee off.
Overall, I love the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and with a fuel consumption of 7.2-6.5 liters/100 km for the C200 and 5.2 – 4.4 litres/100 km for the C220 with top speeds of approx 245 km I will quite comfortably pack my golf gear in the back, taking a slow and long drive up the South Coast to Fancourt for a weekend of golf.
Happy & Safe Driving. Keep it in the fairways, Charlene
