Nurturing Women’s Golf
Standard Bank is deeply committed to fostering and nurturing the growth of women’s golf in South Africa.
Recently, they hosted their second charity golf day, a testament to their dedication to raising funds for the development of this sport. Held at the picturesque Stellenbosch Golf Course, the event saw golfers from across the peninsula converge in support of this noble initiative.
Under the guidance of local pro, Bianca, 20 young female golfers received expert coaching throughout the day. While seasoned players battled it out on the course, these aspiring athletes honed their skills and techniques, eagerly absorbing every lesson. The event wasn’t just about competition; it was a celebration of camaraderie and networking among players, both seasoned and new.
Standard Bank ensured that guests enjoyed a delightful day of golf, followed by a stylish prize-giving ceremony accompanied by sumptuous dinner and exquisite wines from the Cape Winelands.
Highlighting their commitment to nurturing talent, Standard Bank made a significant financial contribution to support the journey of a promising young female player. Bianca, the local club pro, expressed her gratitude for the ongoing support, sharing insights into the progress of one such beneficiary
Passion & Dedication
A 17-year-old from Libertas farm near the golf course, embodies the spirit of the program. Beyond honing her golfing skills, the initiative aims to instill essential life skills, time management, and goal-setting abilities in her. It’s about shaping well-rounded individuals who can thrive not just on the course but in life. The dedication and passion exhibited by Standard Bank in supporting such programs not only open doors for talented golfers but also contribute to their holistic development. By investing in initiatives like these, Standard Bank is not just promoting golf but empowering the next generation of leaders, one swing at a time.
“We were privileged to host our valued clients at our inaugural Western Cape Personal Banking Golf Day.
We were especially thrilled to facilitate a golf academy for young and aspiring female junior golfers on the same day, and to contribute to the development program at Stellenbosch Golf Club aimed at nurturing emerging female talent in the sport.
